Introduction
Hello! I appreciate you being here! I know it is not always easy to take these first few steps towards change, but it is absolutely worthwhile. I hope getting to know a bit about my journey will help you as contemplate your own.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing in Michigan since 2015. Beginning early in my career, I found myself drawn to supporting parents through pregnancy and the early childhood years because I knew what it felt like to be a young, overwhelmed mom living in a complicated world. That time in my life helped me understand the value of human connection, the role supportive relationships play in our lives, and how one of the most important things we can do for those we love, including our children, is nurture and take care of ourselves.

Since those early days, my personal and professional journey has taken me on path of inner growth, self-love, and nurturing soul development. I now incorporate many of those elements into my healing work as well. I still love supporting expectant parents and those raising young children, and I also love working with clients who are focused on self-development, spiritual/soul growth, healing childhood trauma, and learning to love and embrace the child within. As someone who is neurodivergent, I also frequently provide support to individuals who are struggling to parent, work, and manage life with ADHD.
Ultimately, I believe being a human is a messy, painful, beautiful thing, and we all have our own story to tell. I formed Seed to Tree Counseling & Wellness to be able to support you as you begin to tell yours.
Experience and Approach
I hold an undergraduate degree in Family Studies (2006) and a master's degree in Counseling Psychology (2015) from Western Michigan University. Prior to private practice, I worked as a home-based therapist and a mental health consultant for various agencies in Southwest Michigan. In addition to my clinical experience, I've had the opportunity to lead community trainings and provide mental health consultation to school and early childhood caregiving professionals.
I deeply believe in the transformative power of human connection, so my primary therapeutic approach is interpersonal in nature. I also frequently incorporate somatic release and body-oriented therapies, reflective practice, mindfulness/meditation, and CBT techniques for managing thought distortions. I am currently certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and was previously endorsed in Infant Mental Health through the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH).

When I'm not counseling others, I love spending time with my son, family, friends, and my pup/office-mate, Bailey. I also enjoy dancing, travel, a good cup of coffee, great conversation, and finding peace in nature.

If you feel like working together seems like the right fit, please reach out for more information. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing where you go from here!
