Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
Therapy may be covered by your health insurance policy. To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them:
What are my mental health benefits?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
We currently accept BCBS, Optum/UHC, United Healthcare, and Out of Network benefits.
Where do we meet?
Currently services are provided through a HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform. Teletherapy is a great way to stay connected while in the comfort of your own environment. We will keep you informed on this page if and when in-person services will be available.
How often do we meet?
Services are tailored to fit your family's needs, but generally a time commitment of 1 hour per week is expected in order to build a solid therapeutic relationship and work consistently toward goals. The length of therapy depends on you or your child's specific needs. This will be discussed more in depth during your initial sessions.
Is what I say in therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the most important elements of a therapeutic relationship. We will keep all information you share private unless we receive your written consent to release it to a specific person or party. Exceptions to this rule occur only if there is suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, vulnerable adults, or elders; or if there is reason to suspect you are seriously in danger of harming yourself or have threated to harm another person. In these cases, we are ethically and legally required to notify the proper authorities.
What level of care do you offer?
We care about your wellness and will work with you to determine what level of care is needed to support you and your family. Sometimes this means we will help you find another provider who can better assist you. Seed to Tree cannot provide the level of care needed for clients in active and untreated addiction, in need of psychiatric hospitalization, living in an active domestic violence situation, or those who are actively suicidal or homicidal. Please reach out if you would like clarification or if you are in need of a referral or resources.
